Welcome to Gender in Oshikoto Region

Through the DREAMS project LLCL was able to establish presence within the Oshikoto region since 2018 which was previously not done. LLCL provides technical support through the trainings targeted at gender awareness and support to beneficiaries of the DREAMS project namely adolescent girls and young women. It is also through this project that male engagement sessions are conducted with men and boys within the region focused on gender sensitization and the advancement of gender equality within the region to reduce incidences of GBV and increase reporting of GBV and violence against children.

Through community mobilization LLCL is able to solicit support from community headmen, community leaders and community members to support the involvement of men and boys to reduce GBV and HIV within the region. Work done is focused on linking individuals to our psycho-social support services on the 116 Child Helpline and the 106 GBV Helpline. By addressing key issues faced within the region LLCL contributes to the goal of creating Determined, Resilient, Empowered, AIDS-Free, Mentored and Safe (DREAMS) adolescent girls and young women.
